In this video, we’ll show you how to install the Leadfeeder Tracker on your WordPress website, step by step.
Before you start, make sure you have a Super Admin or Administrator role in WordPress to install the tracker.
There are three ways to install the tracker on your wordpress website. Either you can use the Leadfeeder plug-in, use the google tag manager or install the tracker into your child theme’s header.
Option 1: Use the Leadfeeder Plugin.
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins then Add New. Search for 'Leadfeeder by Dealfront' and click 'Install Now.'
After installing, activate the plugin. Then, open the plugin from the sidebar and paste your Website Tracker ID."
To find your Website Tracker ID you will navigate to the Dealfront settings by clicking the gear icon, then go to Company, Website Tracker and click the copy button.
Save your changes. If the tracker isn’t working, clear your WordPress cache to ensure it’s published."
Option 2: Use Google Tag Manager.
This is another quick and easy way to install the Leadfeeder Tracker on your site. You can learn more about this in our video ‘Install the Leadfeeder tracker with Google Tag Manager’"
Option 3: Insert the Leadfeeder Tracker Using a Child Theme or Plugin.
We don’t recommend pasting the script directly into your theme’s header.php file—it may be lost when the theme updates.
Instead, we recommend that you edit your child theme or use the header/footer plugin if the first two options in this video don’t work for you.
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Theme Editor, and open the header file in your child theme, usually called header.php.
Paste the Leadfeeder Tracker script just before the closing </head> tag. Then, click 'Update File' to save.
If you decide to use the header/footer plugin you will Paste the Leadfeeder Tracker script into the header section and click save.
Edit your Traffic Filtering Rules in Dealfront under Account > Traffic Filtering to match the domains you want to track. Ensure the domains are toggled on to be included.
Once set up, it may take up to an hour for the tracker to start collecting data. Remember to clear your WordPress cache if needed.
Your Leadfeeder Tracker is now installed and ready to track visitors on your WordPress site.
